HP5 PLUS
- Uses our more traditional emulsion making methods.
使用比較傳統的乳劑製造方式
(註: 換言之,其實這些所謂傳統型乳劑的描述已經不精確了,格蘭利威18Y都會改配方了,何況幾十年的底片。) - HP5+ has evolved over many years to become an extremely flexible and robust film.
經過多年演變,HP5+已經成為一支具有彈性且耐用的底片 - Has extremely good exposure latitude and is very tolerant of under/over exposure.
有著極好的曝光寬容度,對曝光不足或過度有著良好耐受力
(註: 也是典型乳劑改過配方所帶來的改進,傳統型乳劑對於暗部細節是無奈的,以 ULTRAFINE EXTREME 系列底片來說,相對於 HP5+ 更傳統,以對暗部測光為前提,那些負片第2-3區的地方,就遠比 HP5+ 差,混濁、解析度崩潰,換言之,向下的感光能力不如 HP5+ 優秀。但看亮部的話,也因為這種感光能力較差的天性,對顯影劑較不敏感的特性,帶來了對高光有著更容忍的反應,只是說有時候這種容忍比較「髒」,也不是多清晰的東西) - Images have a excellent sharpness and with a traditional look and feel.

(註: 就是前面提到的,對於那些被捨棄的暗部,雖然已經被捨棄,但 DELTA 比 HP5+ 會硬是可以多一點資訊,不過咧除了所謂特殊光敏性質,其實就是晶體做的更扁,更能夠排列於乳劑表面,而且能夠,而且能夠接受更多的光敏塗料) - More uniform grain structure with finer grain compared to HP5. Grain size is closer to medium speed film like FP4+
粒子結構比HP5更均勻,粒子尺寸接近中速底片例如 FP4+

EI 200 - 3200 的增減感處裡都有著良好特性 - Negatives are easy to print. When exposed and processed correctly, negatives have good tonal range and are slightly easier to print than conventional films.
用來光學放相是簡單的,當曝光和顯影匹配正確時,有著良好階調,且比起傳統型底片較為容易光放
(好,其實都是同一回事,由於這種三層包覆結構讓潛像量小了,但顯影劑作用時卻也因為那些沒潛像的減少作用,導致對有潛像的作用相對劇烈,沒有做出合適匹配的話,亮部就會過頭)
